Neil Rattan is a clinical psychologist whose work with addictions and substance abuse spans more than 25 years and includes extensive experience with adults, adolescents, and families. He has taught psychology at the college and graduate school level and has given lectures on substance abuse and co-dependency to doctors, nurses and hospital administrators. He was Senior Psychologist on the inpatient substance abuse unit of Hall Brook Treatment Center in Westport, Connecticut for 5 years until managed care came in to carve the heart out of the treatment process.

Dr. Rattan began developing his own highly successful addiction treatment model in 1987 while Executive Director of the Spring Valley Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a model that has since proved highly successful. At the same time he partnered with Dr. Thomas Todd - nationally known pioneer in the treatment of adolescents and families – developing a treatment process that includes an extensive and intensive one-on-one, group and family therapeutic experience: his success rate over the past 20 years has been 100%.

Dr. Rattan is owner of Connecticut Psychological Care, founded in 1991 to provide EAP assistance to medical firms. In addition he serves a s a partner of The Executive Group, a professional services firm founded in 1992 to improve organizational performance by insuring that the right people are in the right jobs.

Neil is an activist for recovery in Connecticut and for ten years drove substance abuse task forces for Westport & Weston. He created the Westport Youth services organization to deal with teen problems of depression, mental health and relationships of kids to town and schools. He has been founder, board member, fund raiser, and program designer for numerous addiction focused community programs. It is his dream to build a residential treatment facility to deliver substance abuse treatment free from the restrictions of managed care using his extensive and intensive one-on-one, group therapeutic model.

Dr. Rattan received his B.A. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University, his MA in Psychology and Counseling from Assumption College and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

He lives in Westport, Connecticut and is the father of two adult daughters. Neil is an avid sailor. He races at all levels and has won the National Offshore One Design. He sails on America’s Cup B Boats from Maine to Florida. When he is not sailing he is working.
